Jessica Carter is an ASL-English interpreter who has completed interpreter training and holds a Bachelor’s in ASL. She has since been living and working in Massachusetts and has been blessed by the many faces of this community who challenge her and introduce new ideas of community and language. In addition to interpreting, she is a graduate student of applied linguistics at UMass Boston with elective course studies from Gallaudet University. She is fortunate to have lasting relationships with mentors and thankful for those in the Deaf community who supported this article.
