Rico Peterson is the Assistant Dean and Director of the Department of
Access Service at the Rochester Institute of Technology/NTID. An
interpreter since 1973 and teacher of interpreting since 1985, he
earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of
California, Riverside. Rico has advised and consulted with developing
interpreting programs in Thailand, the Philippines, and Japan. His
publications include The Unlearning Curve: Learning to Learn American
Sign Language and co-authorship of ASL at Work.
